FAQs

Welcome to Charming Ewe! I'm so excited that you've decided to come shop our yarns. This really isn't an FAQ page but more of a "how things work" page. As this is a new and exciting journey for me, I'm sure I will be "adjusting" to make sure I am providing you with the yarns that make you happy! And of course, if you have any questions reach out through the Contact Us page.

In Stock/Ready to Ship

As a new shop, I have limited stock, however you can continue to order what you need and your order will be fulfilled within 1 to 2 weeks. I'll keep track of favorites and stock those in greater quantities when I can.  In stock orders will ship within 3 to 5 days.  If you have any special requests, please reach out to me via the Contact Us page and I'll be happy to see what I can do to fill your yarn needs!

One Hit Wonders

These are one of a kind skeins where I am testing new colors or new bases. In some cases, the colorways are offered on the bases I currently carry but I've tested them on yarns that I have chosen not to carry. In other cases, the colorways are not repeatable because to be honest, I get carried away adding color and I forget to write down my recipe! I also try to minimize waste and in some cases, I am adding leftover dye that I do not want to go to waste. If the colorway is available on other bases, I will indicate that in the product description.

Shop Updates

As I come up with new colorways I will make announcements on my home page banner and provide updates in my Newsletter. Sign up for the Newsletter to get the latest news on shop updates, restocks and new colorways. I will also announce any new releases and updates on Instagram.

Returns

Returns can be requested within 30 days of purchase. Yarns that have been unwound or caked are not eligible for returns. Please refer to my policy page for more details. If there is anything wrong with your order, please contact me so I can fix it!

Wholesale Orders

Please reach out via the Contact Us page. I would love to collaborate with you on wholesale orders for your shop or special project needs!

Caring for your yarn

A good rule of thumb for all hand dyed yarns is to hand wash your items in COLD water with a wool wash or a gentle detergent such as Dawn dish soap. Be careful if you use a wool wash because they have a
tendency to make yarns bleed. Although all of our yarns are Superwash its best to be gentle. I don't know the truth behind it but I've been told adding a few tablespoons of vinegar to the mix will help with colorfastness (fading/bleeding) We do heat set our colorways and allow to cool in a dye bath before rinsing clear so bleeding shouldn't occur, but some scented detergents can begin pulling dye out of the yarn so mild is key!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to me and thank you again for supporting Charming Ewe and small businesses!!
